06 / The Paradox of Knowing

Book design // Format 01: 13X23cm, Format 02: 16X26cm, Format 03: 19X29cm
Designed as part of Complex Content course in Shankar College (3rd year).

The Paradox of Knowing is a research of one of the most fundamental human fears- the fear of the unknown. The research revealed the psychological and philosophical complexities regarding this topic, ultimately concluding it to be a complete paradox. Our essential need to know, to be safe, to be in control - opposed to the surprisingly unpredictable world we live in. I designed 3 books: "The Fear of Not Knowing", "The Fear of Knowing" and "Knowing that You Don't Know". Throughout the design process I collected all of my digital sketches, and later showcased them alongside the 3 books. This is in order to convey the uncertainty revolving creative processes. Simply put, a finished product alongside the living and breathing dark waters of uncertainty. The known alongside the unknown.
